Jefferson County Literacy Council Programs
The Jefferson County Literacy Council offers English classes in Watertown, Jefferson, Johnson Creek, Waterloo, and Fort Atkinson with flexible hours. JCLC has small class sizes and private tutors that can help students achieve their personal goals. Before attending a class, students should visit our office to register and learn more about the hours of our classes. Call us to set up an appointment at (920) 675-0500.
For candidates who are eligible to take the Citizenship test, we offer a class to help prepare for the test. The class helps students to practice their English, study the 100 questions for the test, learn the Oath and Pledge of Allegiance and take trips to the court building and post office to learn about local government and community services. We have resources to help our students better prepare to take the test. Call us for more information at (920) 675-0500.
In computer class, we teach our students the basic skills of the computer. The students learn how to type on a keyboard, use Microsoft Word and Google Chrome. Students learn how to use the computer and transfer their new skills to help them when searching for a job or looking to find information.
Jefferson County Literacy Council has a laboratory of 10 computers with a printer and access to the internet for students who are registered with JCLC. The computer lab is open Monday through Thursday from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. Those who come to use the computers can practice their English with Rosetta Stone, practice typing with Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, create and print documents with Microsoft Office and surf the web.
